Motion Control System (MCS) is an automated photographic acquisition system that enables 360° imaging of any type of plant or grass plot within an area of about 1 m². MCS consists of a circular anodized aluminum rail with ultra-smooth sliding, to which the sliding unit—a motorized carriage—is attached.

This carriage is equipped with a motorized height and rotation adjustment system, as shown in the figure, on which the camera is mounted.

The motors provide smooth, gradual movements, and the system is compatible with most DSLR, mirrorless, and digital cameras up to 5 kg.

MCS connects to any PC via USB cable, and through the Motion Control software it is possible to manage all motor movements as well as camera settings, such as shutter speed, aperture, number of shots, shooting angles, and more.

MCS can be mounted directly on a tripod, or it can also be used independently with the included adjustable, removable feet.

Optionally, MCS can be equipped with a protective cover system capable of isolating the subject from external interferences (e.g., wind, direct sunlight, rain, etc.).
