DIGI-CULT CAMP
DIGI-CULT CAMP (Think and Live DIGItal with CULTural Heritage Training CAMP) is a project funded by the European Union (NextGenerationEU) with the support of the Italian Ministry of Culture, within the framework of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), Mission 1: Digitalization, Innovation, Competitiveness, Culture, and Tourism.
The main goal of DIGI-CULT CAMP is to support institutions, companies, and professionals in the cultural, artistic, and creative sectors in their digital transition, bridging generational, social, territorial, and infrastructural divides. The project promotes the conscious use of digital skills, providing cultural operators with the necessary tools to face the challenges of technological transformation. Within this context, it fosters interdisciplinary collaboration, thereby encouraging innovation and professional development in the sector.
DIGI-CULT CAMP includes the launch of two Open Calls targeting two categories of beneficiaries: cultural organizations and creative industry professionals. A total of 50 participants will be selected according to specific criteria ensuring diversity and inclusion. Selected candidates will take part in a two-month Training Camp, structured into six modules for a total of 108 hours, delivered primarily via e-learning.
The training program aims to provide up-to-date skills and methodologies, essential for adapting to new consumer trends in a constantly evolving digital landscape. Participants will learn advanced techniques for the digitization of Cultural Heritage and innovative approaches such as gamification and storytelling to communicate effectively with audiences. Exclusive artistic experience tools will also be explored, including Extended Reality (XR), NFTs, and the Metaverse, along with methods for managing multidisciplinary collaborations while ensuring accessibility.
The culmination of the Training Camp will be a final Hackathon, where participants will apply the knowledge acquired to develop innovative ICT solutions. During this challenge, they will create XR experiences, multimedia content, videos, animations, and more, responding to specific themes. Prizes for the best ideas will provide additional incentives for creativity and ingenuity.
The ultimate goal of the project is to create a replicable and sustainable collaborative model, where cultural institutions, research bodies, creatives, and technology experts can work together to develop innovative digital services and products capable of effectively enhancing Cultural Heritage.
